Jyothika is fast becoming a household name for anything to do with the OTT space these days. While she was the first major actor from the Tamil industry to have announced a direct-to-OTT release with Ponmagal Vandhal on Amazon Prime Video, her other film, 36 Vayasulo, the much delayed dubbed version of her Tamil hit 36 Vayathinile, directed by Roshan Andrews released to overwhelmingly positive responses on Aha.
In a couple of days, another dubbed film of the actor, filmmaker Bramma’s Maguvalaku Mathrame (dubbed version of Magalir Mattum) gets ready to stream on Aha as well. And she’s not done yet. Her multi-starrer film with her brother-in-law, actor Karthi, Donga will be having its digital premiere on ZEE5 on August 15. The thriller helmed by Drishyam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph was about the mysterious return of a brother into a prestigious family in Ooty. Sathyaraj, Nikhila Vimal and Sowcar Janaki among others essay key roles in the film.
The Tamil version of the film, titled Thambi, had already released on Netflix a few months ago. Though the film isn’t the slickest thrillers you could find in the market, it serves well for a one-time watch. Govind Vasantha has composed music for Donga, while S R Prabhu had produced it.
