National award-winning actress, Zaira Wasim has quit acting citing the work’s interference with her religion. Zair shot to fame with Aamir Khan starrer Dangal who on Instagram wrote a detailed description about her ‘disassociation’ from the field citing “though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here”.
Noted journalist Rana Ayyub and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah supported Zaira’s decisions. While the latter tweeted, “Who are any of us to question @ZairaWasimmm’s choices? It’s her life to do with as she pleases. All I will do is wish her well & hope that what ever she does makes her happy.” Meanwhile, Rana underlined that Zaira faced the wrath when she joined films and her decision should be respected.
