The nomination process has started in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming general elections. Many MLA and MP candidates submitted their nominations yesterday. One of them was Butta Renuka, the MLA contestant from Yemmiganur in Kurnool district. During a recent meeting, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy mentioned Renuka’s humble background and poor financial status.
However, Renuka’s affidavit tells a different story. According to the affidavit, Renuka and her husband Shiva Neelakanta own assets worth Rs. 161.21 crore. Of this, movable assets amount to Rs. 142.46 crore, while immovable assets are valued at Rs. 18.75 crore. The affidavit also states that Renuka has debts of Rs. 7.82 crore. Renuka owns 2375 grams of gold, diamond necklaces, and other jewelry worth Rs. 2.54 crore. Additionally, her husband holds 435 grams of gold ornaments.
The couple is involved in various businesses, including hotels, automobile showrooms, and educational institutions. They also own a function hall called Butta Convention Hall. Furthermore, they have significant shareholdings in companies like Tejaswi Jewellers, Tejaswi Motors, Butta Hospitality Pvt Ltd, and Butta Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, amounting to crores of rupees. Renuka also faces three financial crime cases related to income tax violations, along with one case in Kurnool.
With such substantial assets and business ventures, many are questioning how Jagan could label Renuka as a poor candidate.
