Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan has taken stock of the Godavari board tragedy with the death toll rising upto 12. Jagan conducted an aerial survey of Devipatnam mandal where the boat capsized in East Godavari district on Sunday.

So far 24 persons have survived the tragedy, who have been shifted to Rajahmundry Government General Hospital (GGH). Meanwhile, extensive search operation are underway to recover 21 bodies which are still missing. The majority of the tourists hailed from Telangana, and Telangana and state chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced Rs 5 lakh each to the bereaved families.
