Yatra 2 has made its debut on OTT platforms, joining the league of successful movies reaching audiences online. This silent film, a sequel to the original Yatra, delves into the life of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, portrayed by Jeeva. After its release in February, the movie is now streaming on Amazon Prime, allowing viewers to witness the journey of YS Jagan.
The storyline of “Yatra 2” revolves around the aftermath of YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s death, where MLAs initially support YS Jaganmohan Reddy for the Chief Minister post. However, due to certain reasons, Jagan is denied the opportunity. Despite facing setbacks, Jagan embarks on a Padayatra to console 660 families who lost their breadwinners, defying his party’s instructions. This act leads to conflicts within the Congress party and eventually prompts Jagan to start his own political party. Subsequently, he faces legal troubles, including arrest in illegal assets cases.
Directed by Mahi Raghav, “Yatra 2” features stellar performances by Mammootty, Jiiva, and Ketaki Narayan. The supporting cast includes Suzanne Bernert, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Ashrita Vemuganti Nanduri. Santhosh Narayanan’s music sets the tone, while Madhie’s cinematography captures the essence of the narrative.
