The worst fears about 2.0 have come true. The film has ended up as a loss-making venture. Despite all the hype and hoopla, the film got mixed reviews and failed to draw the people to the theatres. Except for the Hindi market, all other markets have disappointed.
Rajinikanth And Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 Movie Ends Up As a Loss?
What is surprising is that even the Tamil buyers were left with huge losses. The Tamil theatrical rights were sold for Rs 100 crore, but the film barely managed to collect Rs 60 crore. This means the buyers will end up with 40 per cent losses. With the theatrical run almost ending, a revival of fortunes is impossible.
Telugu market was a shade better but, even here, the loss is expected to be around 20 per cent. The film was sold for Rs 72 crore and the collections are around Rs 55 crore. Only Hindi version managed to lure the audience to the theatre. Karan Johar bought the theatrical rights for Rs 100 crore and got back close to Rs 200 crore.
