Will Chitralahari be Sai Dharam‘s comeback film? After six back-to-back failures, he has now pinned all his hopes on this film. Interestingly, this project was decided before his last flop ‘Tej I Love You’ was released and the advance too was already paid to him. Though Tej I Love You bombed at the box office, Mythri Movie Makers, the producers, have not cancelled the deal.
However, given the current market worth of Sai Dharam, they have re-sized the budget and have decided to complete the film within just Rs 15 crore, including the publicity. They are planning to sell the theatrical rights for a lower price, but want to make up with satellite and digital rights. Everything is being planned to keep Sai Dharam’s current position. Even the Mythri Movie Makers has suffered losses due to Savyasachi and Amar Akbar Antony. So, they are quite careful about the mid-range films they are making.
Another interesting aspect is that the film’s story was originally narrated to hero Nani. For some reasons, he did not accept the storyline. So, it has now fallen into the lap of Sai Dharam.
