Down in the dumps, the market completely gone, Sai Dharam Tej did not want to take up any new projects for the past some time. But, it appears, he has shed diffidence and has started the shooting of his latest project Chitralahari. He now wants to ensure that the film becomes a hit. But, the team he has chosen is a bunch of failures.
Director Kishore Tirumala’s last outing ‘Unnadi Okate Zindagi’ was a flop. Heroine Kalyani Priyadarshan and Nivetha Sethuraj began their careers with flops Hello and Mental Madhilo respectively. Producers Mythri Movie Makers, who had a dream run till now, have just delivered two flops – Savyasachi and Amar Akbar Antony – on the trot. So, there is negativity all around. Even DSP is not churning out the kind of peppy numbers he once used to.
So, it’s like a bunch of underdogs making a last-ditch effort. For any film to succeed, it created a buzz, enthuse the audience. Will Chitralahari manage to do that? Let’s wait and see.
