When Tamil flick Thani Oruvan broke box-office records, every hero wanted to remake it in Telugu, but none dared as the antagonist clearly dominates the protagonist. But, Cherry bucked the trend and went ahead with the remake.
He believed in the storyline and left behind the image trap. The risk paid off and Dhruva, the remake, gave him the much-needed makeover. After Rangasthalam, he has climbed up a few more notches. Again, risk-taking paid off for Cherry. Now the latest is that director Jayam Raja and hero Jayam Ravi are planning to make a sequel to Thani Oruvan. They want to have Aravind Swamy again for playing the baddie and are planning to release the movie by next summer.
Will Cherry too make a sequel to Dhruva? Will he play cop again? As of now, he is already playing cop for Rajamouli’s RRR. Will he be seen as a cop twice in a row?
