Trivikram Srinivas also known as Wizard of Words is ebullient with the roaring hit of Ala Vaikunrapurramloo. The film has been setting record not only are domestic but overseas as well. Trivikram Double Standards?
Trivikram, cut to 2012, at an event gave a wonderful speech about Telugu lyricist Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry. The viral video with over two million views shows Trivikram speaking about the lyricist in great regard. He expressed his astonishment and considered bad luck for Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry for being born as a Telugu writer. Justifying further he says, that Telugu Cinema invariably is a commercial art and doesn’t recongnise and acknowledge the literary jargon used by the great lyricists. This, Trivikram adds that being as the Telugu writer failed Seetarama Sastry to reach to greater audience who could have had understood his greatness.
Trivikram concludes saying that it’s bad luck for Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry but good fortune for Telugu Cinema to have him.
On this note, we break it down Trivikram double standardnes. When he Heaped praises on Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry, then why is he not encouraging Telugu talent. For instance, the popular Samajavaragamana is crooned by Sid Sriram. The singer hails from Tamil community. Don’t we have local talent here? Why don’t the filmmakers encourage local talent which is in abundance. why artistes from other places have a field day in Tollywood?
