Around two decades ago, reports surfaced about an incident involving Telugu film actor-producer Mohan Babu, who allegedly slapped an upcoming actress during the shooting of a film intended to launch his son Vishnu into the industry.
According to media sources, the actress in the situation is Shilpa Sivanand, the sister of well-known southern actress Sakshi Shivanand. The incident reportedly occurred at Annapoorna studio while filming a song for the movie titled “Vishnu.” Mohan Babu, upset with the actress’s performance in a kissing scene with his son, is said to have abused and slapped her.
Subsequently, the actor faced accusations of also mistreating the actress’s mother, Parveen Sivanand. As per the reports in one of the popular media pages, allegedly, Mohan Babu locked both women in a room after abusing and physically assaulting them. The actress and her mother filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Police, leading to the registration of a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful confinement, insult intended to provoke breach of peace, and criminal intimidation.
Despite the allegations, the police have not taken immediate action, stating that they initiated an inquiry into the incident and would decide on further steps after completing the investigation.
The source also mentioned that Mohan Babu has a history of alleged high-handedness within the Telugu film industry, with reported incidents of mistreating co-stars and behaving inappropriately with producers and directors. The complainants have mentioned that Mohan Babu had obtained an undertaking from them, allowing legal action if the actress failed to complete the film’s shooting.
However many close sources to the actor pointed out this as baseless rumour, marking that some one intentionally made bad propaganda against Mohan Babu who always respects the women utmost.
