When Sridevi’s mother wanted this Telugu hero as her son-in-law!
Veteran Tollywood actor Murali Mohan gained immense popularity in the 80s and 90s. He started his film journey in 1973 and impressed audiences as a hero and in key supporting roles. His first big break came with Jagame Maya, followed by Tirupati, directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. Over the years, he acted in more than 350 films, leaving a lasting impact on Telugu cinema.
Beyond acting, Murali Mohan became a politician, businessman, and producer. He played an active role in real estate and was elected as an MP contributing to public service. Despite his success in various fields, he never stepped away from the film industry. Even today, he remains active in social and film-related events.
Recently, Murali Mohan revealed a surprising story about the legendary actress Sridevi. During an interview, he shared an incident from his early career. He recalled that Sridevi’s mother once wanted him as her daughter’s husband. She even took Sridevi to his house to convince him.
At that time, Sridevi was an upcoming actress, while Murali Mohan was already a successful hero. However, he was already married and had two children. When Sridevi’s mother realized this, she dropped the proposal. This incident was known only to a few senior members of the industry until Murali Mohan spoke about it in a recent interview.
Sridevi eventually married Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor and had two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Janhvi is now a rising actress, starring in major films, including RC16 with Ram Charan.
