Rashmika Mandanna is now recognized as one of India’s most talented and popular actresses admired not only for her acting skills but also for her beauty, style, and down-to-earth personality. However, her journey to stardom was not without challenges.
In an interview, Rashmika candidly shared her struggles during the early days of her career. She revealed that she faced numerous rejections and was often told she did not have the “face of an actor.” These harsh comments took a toll on her leading her to question her place in the industry. She recalled, “I would come back home and cry after being rejected.” Despite this, Rashmika didn’t give up. She auditioned for another film, which she eventually landed but unfortunately, after months of training, the project was shelved.
Rashmika also disclosed that she was rejected from 20-25 auditions before getting her breakthrough. The constant criticism about her appearance and abilities could have easily deterred her, but she remained steadfast in her pursuit of acting. Her determination to improve with every performance became her driving force. She mentioned, “The urge to constantly improve and be better is so strongly there in my mind. I watch my movies and think, oh my god, I wish I could do a better job.”
Despite these early setbacks, Rashmika’s hard work and resilience have paid off. Today, she is a leading actress with several major projects lined up. One of her most anticipated films is Pushpa 2: The Rule, the sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. In addition to this, she has two significant Bollywood projects on the horizon: Chhava alongside Vicky Kaushal and Sikandar where she will share the screen with Salman Khan. Interestingly Chhava is set to clash with Pushpa: The Rise in theaters on December 6.
Rashmika is also part of Kubera which is a film starring Dhanush directed by Sekhar Kammula. The movie features an impressive cast including Nagarjuna, Jim Sarbh and Dalip Tahil is reportedly a political drama that promises to be a game-changer.
