Suriya and Jyotika are one of the most beloved couples in the South Indian film industry often referred to as a perfect match.
They first met on the sets of the movie Poovellam Kettuppar and quickly fell in love. In a 2023 interview, Jyotika shared her memories of working with Suriya during their early years together.
Jyotika mentioned that in all the films she starred in with Suriya the actor never crossed any boundaries during romantic scenes. She said, “Suriya always performed exactly as the director instructed and never took advantage of any situation.”
She also opened up about how she was exhausted from working non-stop for almost a decade and felt a sense of relief when Suriya proposed to her.
For those who don’t know, Suriya and Jyotika have been married for nearly 18 years and have two children.
“I got married the very next month without any hesitation,” Jyotika shared. She also praised Suriya for being a devoted husband and mentioned that he could serve as a role model for other married men.
On the professional front, Suriya is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated pan-Indian film Kanguva.
The makers released an exciting trailer on August 12, which showcases a visually stunning experience with a fantastical backdrop. The trailer hints at an epic battle, with scenes from haunting forests to intense battlefields.
Kanguva is set to hit theaters on October 10, 2024. Besides Suriya, the film features Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramanium, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles.
Meanwhile, Jyotika’s most recent work was in the Hindi film Srikanth alongside Rajkummar Rao. The biographical film tells the story of Srikanth Bolla a visually impaired industrialist.
