When AR Rahman came to the rescue of his wife Saira Bhanu
In 2023, AR Rahman stood up for his wife, Saira Banu, after actress Kasturi Shankar criticized her for not being fluent in Tamil. Kasturi shared a clip from the Vikatan Awards and questioned Saira’s mother tongue and the language spoken in their home. Her comments sparked backlash on social media, with many accusing her of being intrusive and disrespectful.
In response, AR Rahman tweeted, “Kadhalukku Mariyadhai,” which translates to “Respect for Love,” showcasing his support for his wife. The incident highlighted the composer’s graceful response to personal attacks on his family.
