When Allu Arjun said THIS Bollywood hero is nothing in front of Prabhas
Actor Prabhas, celebrated as one of India’s first true pan-Indian stars, enjoys an immense fan following both within the country and abroad. Known for his dedication to his craft and his iconic role in Baahubali, he has earned praise from numerous actors. Among them is Allu Arjun, who once compared him to Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan in a way that surprised fans.
During a promotional event for Prabhas’ movie Billa in 2007, director SS Rajamouli made a noteworthy statement about the South Indian film industry. He remarked that after watching Dhoom 2, he had thought South Indian cinema lacked actors of Hrithik Roshan’s caliber. However, upon seeing Prabhas in Billa, Rajamouli expressed that he felt Prabhas was on par, if not superior, to Hrithik. After watching the trailer, I now feel Hrithik is nothing compared to Prabhas. Telugu cinema has reached a level where it can stand alongside Bollywood and even Hollywood, he remarked, adding that the regional industry had grown to compete with global cinema.
Allu Arjun, who was present at the event, agreed with Rajamouli’s view, further praising Prabhas’ charm, action skills, and on-screen presence. He stated, As Rajamouli mentioned, Hrithik Roshan is nothing in front of Prabhas. Prabhas is exceptional in his appearance, action sequences, and overall performance. He is truly number one in every sense.
Following this event, a video clip capturing these comments gained widespread attention, stirring both support and criticism online. While some fans found Allu Arjun’s comparison bold and perhaps too strong, others felt he was simply expressing his admiration for a fellow actor. Later, SS Rajamouli clarified his words, explaining that he had not intended to demean Hrithik Roshan, for whom he holds considerable respect.
This was not the only occasion on which Allu Arjun spoke highly of Prabhas. According to reports, Allu Arjun once commended Prabhas for his dedication and perseverance during the making of Baahubali, noting that Prabhas’ commitment over five years was nothing short of remarkable.
