Allu Arjun one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars has captivated audiences with his performances in films like Pushpa: The Rise, Sarrainodu, and Arya. Despite being born into a well-known film family, with his grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah and uncle Chiranjeevi being famous personalities, Allu Arjun faced significant challenges at the beginning of his career. In a candid media interaction, he once revealed that after his debut in 2003 with Gangotri he struggled to find good projects because he didn’t have the conventional looks that many film producers sought.
Reflecting on his early career, Allu Arjun shared that although Gangotri was a commercial success, he felt it was a personal failure as he couldn’t make a strong impression as an actor. He described this period as going from 0 to -100, feeling like he was a nobody in the industry despite coming from a prominent film family.
However, his fortunes changed when he attended the screening of the film Dil, starring Nithiin. During this event, director Sukumar approached Allu Arjun with the script for Arya. Although Sukumar was a debutant director at the time, Allu Arjun was impressed by the script and agreed to be a part of the project. This decision proved to be a turning point in his career. Arya became a massive success, and Allu Arjun credits Sukumar for having a significant impact on his journey as an actor.
Over the years Allu Arjun has maintained that Sukumar has played a pivotal role in his career helping him transition from a newcomer to a leading actor in the industry. This collaboration continued with their work on Pushpa further cementing their professional relationship.
Currently, Allu Arjun is preparing for the release of the much-anticipated sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule. This action-drama film is a continuation of Sukumar’s successful Pushpa: The Rise which was released in 2021. In the sequel, Allu Arjun will reprise his role as Pushpa Raj, a sandalwood smuggler who navigates the challenges and enemies he encounters as he rises through the ranks of his syndicate. The film will also feature Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, who play crucial roles in the ongoing conflict between Pushpa Raj and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
Initially scheduled for release on August 15, 2024, the release date for Pushpa 2 has now been postponed to December 6, 2024. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how the story unfolds in this highly anticipated sequel.
