Tollywood star Prabhas is currently setting a high standard for work ethic and productivity in the film industry. On one side, he is actively involved in the promotional events for “Kalki 2898 AD,” and on the other, he is gearing up for a photoshoot with director Hanu Raghavapudi. Additionally, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is preparing to start “Spirit” by December. This demonstrates the impressive pace at which Prabhas is operating. This begs the question: what are other major Tollywood stars doing in comparison?
Take Mahesh Babu for instance. He has signed on for a film with SS Rajamouli which might occupy him for the next couple of years, making him unavailable for other projects. Then there’s Ram Charan who has been working on “Game Changer” for quite some time, a film he began during the shooting of “RRR.” His next project RC16 with Buchi Babu, will commence after completing the current Shankar directorial. However, at this pace Ram Charan might only deliver one film every two years, which seems insufficient given his potential.
Similarly, Jr NTR is nearing the completion of “Devara,” with a subsequent project lined up with director Prashanth Neel. However, there is no clear schedule for the next film’s shooting dates. While “Devara” is set for a 2024 release, it’s uncertain whether we will see Jr NTR’s next film by 2025.
Allu Arjun’s last film, “Pushpa,” was released in 2021, and its sequel, “Pushpa 2,” is expected later this year. However after that he doesn’t have any confirmed projects in the pipeline. Directors like Boyapati and Atlee have moved on, and there’s no clear direction from Trivikram. If Allu Arjun picks a new project now, it might not be ready until 2026.
These delays and uncertainties indicate a significant planning issue among these stars, which is understandably disappointing for their fans. Various external factors may be causing these delays, but a more proactive approach could help.
Prabhas, on the other hand has shown remarkable efficiency and foresight in managing his projects. His ability to juggle multiple commitments and maintain a consistent workflow is commendable. Tollywood’s other big stars could benefit from adopting a similar approach. By improving their planning and execution, they can meet the high expectations of their fans and contribute more dynamically to the industry.
