What made Triptii Dimri sign Animal? The actress shares her reasons

In a recent conversation at the India Today Conclave 2024 Triptii shared insights about why she decided to join the cast of Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and discussed her approach to the character Zoya.
Triptii, known for stepping out of her comfort zone in her previous films like Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022), found the role of Zoya both exciting and challenging. According to her, it is essential for an actor to take on roles that push boundaries and make them grow. She described Zoya as “brave and innocent,” which intrigued her and drew her to the project. The role provided her with the opportunity to explore new emotional depths, as Zoya was not a typical character but someone who evolves significantly throughout the film.
For Triptii, the decision to be part of Animal wasn’t just about working with big names like Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, but also about the challenge the role offered. “Every time I get a role, I feel like it’s both scary and challenging. That’s exactly how I felt when Sandeep sir explained Zoya’s character to me. She seemed both brave and innocent at the same time, and that excited me. I’m always looking for roles that offer something different,” Triptii said at the event.
While discussing her experience working on Animal, Triptii also spoke about her admiration for co-star Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Their collaboration, she believes, elevated the film and allowed her to tap into new aspects of her craft.
Triptii’s candidness at the event didn’t end with her experience on Animal. She was also asked to choose between Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal as her “3 AM friend,” a question that prompted her to reveal her close bond with Vicky. Having worked with him in Bad Newz, she referred to him as someone she is quite close to and would count on as a true friend.
Triptii’s fame skyrocketed following the release of Animal. Triptii Dimri’s journey in the film industry began with Poster Boys in 2017, followed by her role in Laila Majnu (2018), which initially did not perform well but was re-released in 2023. Her more notable performances in Bulbbul and Qala brought her critical acclaim and opened doors to bigger projects like Animal.
Looking ahead, Triptii has several exciting projects lined up, including Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, a nostalgic comedy set in the 1990s, where she stars alongside Rajkummar Rao.
