Actress Pooja Hegde recently shared which film she is most proud of, and her choice surprised many. In a recent interview, she revealed that her proudest project is Retro, starring Suriya.
Pooja expressed her deep connection to the film, saying, “I am proud of all my films, but Retro stands out. I love everything about it—how we shot it, the energy on set, and the entire creative process. My character is well-developed, and even though I haven’t seen the full movie yet, I can confidently say it’s special.”
She also mentioned that director Karthik Subbaraj selected her for Retro after appreciating her emotional performance in Radhe Shyam, where she starred alongside Prabhas. With Suriya playing a gangster who sacrifices everything for love, Retro is expected to be a major hit.
The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on May 1. Pooja has already completed filming for her role, though she is yet to finish her portions in Jana Nayagan. She has kept details about her character a secret, keeping fans curious.
Apart from Pooja and Suriya, Retro features a strong supporting cast including Joju George, Jayaram and Karunakaran. Shriya Saran will also make a special appearance in a dance sequence. The film’s music is composed by Santosh Narayan and it is produced by Jyotika and Suriya under the 2D Entertainment banner.
Pooja was last seen in the Hindi film Deva where she starred opposite Shahid Kapoor. With Retro generating high expectations, fans are eager to see Pooja in a fresh and exciting role.
