In 2022 actress Kalyani Priyadarshan gained recognition for her performance in the Malayalam movie Hridayam. As the daughter of filmmaker Priyadarshan and actress Lissy, Kalyani has often been in the limelight. However, rumors about her personal life, particularly regarding her relationship with actor Pranav Mohanlal, also grabbed attention. Pranav, son of superstar Mohanlal, was Kalyani’s co-star in Hridayam.
In an interview with Asianet, Kalyani addressed these rumors, firmly stating that Pranav is like a brother to her. She explained that their bond goes back to their childhood, as their fathers are close friends. Kalyani mentioned that she used to introduce Pranav as her cousin because explaining their connection was complicated.

Speaking about Pranav, she described him as a simple and genuine person. She admired his ability to live modestly and said he sets an example for younger members of their family. In another interview with Vanitha, Kalyani shared that she had more childhood photos with Pranav than with her own brother.
Mohanlal also commented on the rumors during a media interaction. He dismissed the speculation, affirming that Kalyani and Pranav are good friends, much like the friendship he shares with her father.
On the professional front, Kalyani has several upcoming projects, including Genie, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, and an untitled Malayalam film.
