Music composer Wajid Khan of music director duo Sajid-Wajid passed away today, June 1 in the early hours. The reason behind his death is said to be kidney ailment. He breathed his last at Surana Hospital, Chembur. The news of his demise was confirmed by music composer Salim Merchant.
Salim said, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical”. The music composer duo are known for their works with Salman Khan. They made their debut with Salman’s film “Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya” and then went on to produce chartbusters for films like – “Garv”,”Wanted”, “Tere Naam”, “Tumko Na Bhool Payenge”, “Partner” and the popular “Dabangg” installment.
Bollywood has expressed shock about the untimely demise and paid tributes on social media. The news of Wajid’s death falls close on the demise of Bollywood actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor.
