Plot
The narrative begins by tracing the familial connections of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife Bharathi, setting the stage for the political maneuvers surrounding Bharathi’s cousin, Avinash Reddy. As the story unfolds, we are drawn into Vivekananda Reddy’s world, where tensions simmer within the family. Bharathi’s frustration at being sidelined, coupled with Jagan’s plans to launch a new political party, lays the groundwork for the unfolding drama.
Central to the plot is Vivekananda Reddy’s dislike towards Avinash Reddy getting the MP seat in Kadapa, as he wishes to give it to Sharmila, who strived hard for the party while Jagan is in jail. However, Bharathi and Jagan dislike giving the seat to Sharmila; they want Avinash to be the MP. With this, Jagan, Bharathi, Avinash Reddy’s father Bhaskar Reddy, and Avinash Reddy plan to sideline Vivekananda Reddy. Jagan assures Avinash to do whatever he wants, as he wants sympathy and just wants to win in the elections. Then Bhaskar Reddy and Avinash Reddy plan to kill Vivekananda Reddy and execute it in a perfect way. The planning and execution of their scheme form the crux of the story.
Analysis
The movie has a lot of eye-opening elements. The director was crystal clear in presenting the story, and the film can be easily understood even by those who have no idea about politics. Additionally, there are many eye-opening scenes, such as how Bharathi was desperate to give a seat to Avinash Reddy and wanted to sideline Sharmila. Also, how Jagan planned and used Vijayamma for his victory. Many aspects are portrayed very effectively.
The actor who portrayed Jagan’s character deserves great applause, as he portrayed Jagan convincingly. One particular scene in which he lovingly slaps Bharathi on her cheeks highlights how he imitated Jagan even in small details.
The first half is neatly done, depicting Vivekananda Reddy’s dissatisfaction with the Jagan party, explaining why he didn’t like Bharathi but favored Sharmila, and why Avinash Reddy wanted to kill Vivekananda. Meanwhile, the second half is also executed well, illustrating how Avinash Reddy and Bahskar Reddy executed their plan with Jagan their back. Also, the movie effectively depicts how they managed things after the murder and how they framed it as a heart attack. The emotional scene between Sunitha and Vivekananda in one of the climax scenes was portrayed excellently, adding depth and resonance to the moment. One of the film’s standout moments is the climax scene, where Jagan publicly recounts the details of Vivekananda’s murder, portraying the entire scene as if he were present during the incident. Additionally, he plans to shift the entire blame onto Chandra Babu Naidu, who has no involvement in the case.
The performances by the cast are commendable, with each actor capturing the essence of their real-life counterparts convincingly. Jagan, Avinash, and Bharathi’s characters are portrayed with depth and nuance, offering insights into their real-life behavior and revealing the master plan they had behind Vivekananda’s murder.
