Actor-producer Vishal after being embroiled in a major controversy with director Mysskin when the latter had walked out of the film Thupparivalan 2 (sequel to the film that released as Detective in Telugu) owing to serious differences is finally back in the news after a lull. While Vishal has assumed control as a director of Thupparivalan 2 since Mysskin’s exit, his next film Chakra is getting ready. The first look and trailer glimpse of Chakra, a cyber-thriller in the making where Vishal shares screen space with Regina Cassandra and Shraddha Srinath, was released recently.
Being helmed by MS Anandan, the film was slated to be a sequel to Vishal’s Abhimanyudu though the title/story changed later. While the actor himself is producing the film under Vishal Film Factory, Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music for the project. Manobala, Robo Shankar, KR Vijay, Srushti Dange are to be seen in important roles. Come June 27, the makers will be releasing the film’s trailer in as many as four languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
The previous year hasn’t been particularly kind to Vishal, be it the not-so-great responses for his films Ayogya and Action, the allegations about misappropriating funds in his stint at the Nadigar Sangam board or his marriage being called off and the roadblocks with Thupparivalan 2. One hopes Vishal finds his mojo back and resurrects his career soon.
