Plot
Santhanam(Vijay Sethupathi) is a drug lord who is furious as his crores worth of containers filled with Cocainis missing. In comes Amar(Fahadh Faasil) to crack the case. He finds out that there is a mystery man called Vikram(Kamal Haasan) behind all this. Who is this Vikram and why did he create such a fuss in the lives of many forms the crux of Vikram.
Performances
Roles like these are a cakewalk for Kamal Haasan. At this age, he is agile and does act like a pro. The fans will go crazy in the climax after seeing Kamal in such an action avatar. Fahadh Faasil means business as a cop. Though he might not intimidate you, his intensity speaks it all. Vijay Sethupathi gets the best intro and is menacing as Santhanam. His fight with Kamal will be whistle worthy in the theaters.

Analysis
Vikram is set amidst a good crime setup and there is enough chance for the director to go all out. The presence of big stars only helps the film. The Lokesh Kanagaraj brand is visible in all the action blocks which are super stylish, to say the least. If this was not enough, Anirudh is spellbinding with his BGM.
Vikram has a slow start but that does not bore you. It has been done only to narrate the story in a detailed manner. The only issue with the film is the runtime which is close to three hours and is a lot for an action drama with big stars in it. But all that is forgotten by the climax time.
Suriya comes in by the end of the climax and this leads to a chance of a sequel. The story of Vikram is such that it gives scope for many characters to be established and make them heroes. But as it has so much action done by a senior hero like Kamal Haasan, the viewing experience is made good. Vikram is a film in that the face value and added flavor is the solid action.
