Actress-politician Vijayshanti has donned the greasepaint after a decade in Mahesh Babu starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru. The actress is said to be playing a professor role which is a crucial role in the film.
While everyone is eagerly awaited to know about the latest updated from Mahesh Babu’s 26th film, veteran actress Vijayshanti latest interview where she made shocking comments on the current crop of heroines is going viral. Speaking about the current actress, she said that they have a choice to pick up the films they like btu they aren’t doing anything impressive. She said, “Things aren’t the same now. Actors and actresses have the luxury of doing two-three movies a year, sometimes even lesser. Actresses today have the option of picking and choosing the films they want to do. And yet, I’m afraid, I don’t see these women doing anything impressive.”
Vijaysanthi adds, “What has changed from then to now? The industry has changed. Their style of working has changed. They are coming and doing work, but their focus is not the same. Those days, we would work round the clock. In a day, we would work six shifts. I used to juggle from one set to the next. I would start at 5am in the morning and would sometimes finish only at 5am the next day. I would then go home, take a bath and set out again. There would be no sleep at all. We would do 17-18 films a year; such was the demand. Everyone would say ‘We want Vijayashanti’…, but I would wonder, ‘how many films can I possibly do?’ But I tried my best.”
