Plot
Vijaya Raghavan(Vijay Anthony) wants to become an IAS officer in his life. But a few goons in his colony spoil his dream. His mother comes into the picture and encourages him to take the route of politics. The rest of the story is as to how Vijaya Raghavan become a corporator in the same colony and taken an even bigger route in politics.
Performances
Vijay Anthony is the only solace in the film with his sincere acting. He as a sincere educated man holds the film with his sincere acting. The lady who played his mother also did well. The rest of the cast is new and they are Tamil actors so there is nothing much to talk about.
Analysis
In a way, you can say that Vijaya Raghavan is the cheaper version of Shankar’s social films with big stars. It has the premise and good emotions as well. But it is faltered in the second half.
The director has only focused on the mother’s sentiment and has left the other key emotions alone. This is where the film goes for a toss in the latter part as the things that hero does are so convenient and easy and look over the top.
The film has some good drama in the initial stages but that grip does not continue later. That is the reason Vijaya Raghavan becomes an outdated social drama with nothing much going it’s way.
Bottom Line – Freemake of Shankar films
