After essaying the role of a rebellious medico-turned-doctor with a lot of grey shades in ‘Arjun Reddy’ which fetched him overnight stardom, Vijay Devarakonda seems to be mellowing down and will be seen as a ‘boy-next-door’ in his upcoming untitled film with director Parasuram, being produced by Geetha Arts.
“Firstly, Vijay Devarakonda will not have a rebellious streak to his role in this big ticket film, since it is shaping into a family drama. Director Parasuram has weaved a role of soft and good hearted guy, who pursues his love and family relationship with more maturity and understanding and doesn’t push things, rather waits for things to fall in place,” says a source, close to unit.
Interestingly, Vijay seems to have realised that it is better to enact ‘powerful grey roles’ once-in-a-while, instead of doing them back-to-back, as it could affect his image. Vijay should be playing more mainstream lover boy roles to give his arch rivals like Nithiin, Nikhil, Sharwanand and Raj Tharun, a run for their money, rather than treading the path of grey and dark roles, which have a limited outreach.
