With the completion of the nomination process, the political landscape in Telugu states is abuzz with intensified election campaigns. Leaders from all parties are leaving no stone unturned to sway voters in this limited time frame. Notably, even celebrities from the film industry are stepping up to support their kin and acquaintances in the political arena.
Actor Nikhil Siddhartha recently lent his support to his uncle MM Kondaiah Yadav’s campaign in Chirala, while mega hero Varun Tej is slated to participate in Pawan Kalyan’s campaign in Pithapuram.
Adding to the mix, renowned actor Venkatesh has decided to partake in the election campaign this time around. Although traditionally apolitical, Venkatesh’s motivation this time appears to stem from familial bonds. He is scheduled to devote one day each to campaigning in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
In Telangana, Venkatesh will rally for Khammam’s Congress candidate, Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, who is also his brother-in-law. Venkatesh’s daughter, Ashritha, is married to Raghuram’s elder son, Vinayak Reddy, while his younger son, Arjun Reddy, is wedded to the daughter of Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Swapni Reddy.
Across the border in Andhra Pradesh, Venkatesh will throw his weight behind Kaikaluru’s alliance candidate, Kamineni Srinivas, who happens to be his wife Neeraja’s maternal uncle. Notably, Venkatesh’s campaign efforts will span across party lines, as he supports a Congress candidate in Telangana and a BJP candidate in Andhra Pradesh.
