Nanda Kumar claims he leased land from the Daggubati family. He started operating a hotel, Deccan Kitchen, on this property. A dispute over the lease arose between the two parties. Nanda Kumar alleges that the Daggubati family forcibly entered his premises. He says they used anti-social elements to demolish the hotel.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) partially demolished Deccan Kitchen in 2022. Nanda Kumar approached the High Court, which ordered a status quo. However, in January 2024, the family allegedly ignored court orders and demolished the hotel completely.
Nanda Kumar estimates the damages at Rs. 20 Crore. The court has now directed Film Nagar police to investigate the matter. The case is ongoing.
