Uppena is a film that has been stuck with its release for quite some time. Even when so many producers deciding to release their films on OTT, Sukumar decided to have a theatrical release. The film will be out on the 12th of this month as Valentine’s day special.
The word from the unit is that the film has been made with a good budget and until recently, there was tension in the camp as to how the film will recover the cost. But DSP’s music and Vijay Sethupathi have done wonders for the film. Most of the rights for the film have put the makers in a safe zone already.
So, whatever the makers get from the big screen release will be a big bonus. The trade also says that the film will take a solid opening. With 100% occupancy now allowed, if the film gets a hit talk, it will rake in solid money as per the talk. Let’s see if that happens or not.
