Turbo OTT: After brief appearances in “Abraham Ozler” and the horror film “Bramayugam,” Megastar Mammootty starred in the action-comedy “Turbo.” Directed by Vysakh and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas the movie premiered in theaters on May 23rd and received praise, particularly for its intense action scenes. Now, “Turbo” is set for its OTT release on the streaming platform Sony LIV. Sony LIV announced the news on social media with a teaser trailer and the caption: “Experience a new level of action with Mammootty as Turbo Jose. Stream Turbo on Sony LIV starting in August.”
The exact date for the OTT release has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be revealed soon.

About Turbo
“Turbo” is the third collaboration between Mammootty and director Vysakh, following “Pokkiri Raja” and its sequel “Madhura Raja.” The film, written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, who previously directed Mammootty in “Abraham Ozler,” tells the story of Turbo Jose, a character known for getting into frequent brawls. After one such fight, Turbo is forced to flee to Chennai. There he becomes involved in a major financial scam orchestrated by businessman Vetrivel Shanmugha Sundaram. The movie revolves around how Turbo and his friends manage to escape from Vetrivel’s clutches.
The ensemble cast includes Shabareesh Varma, Anjana Jayaprakash, Bindu Panicker, and Dileesh Pothan among others. Additionally, Kannada actor Raj B Shetty and Telugu actor Suneel make their Malayalam film debut in “Turbo.” Mammootty not only stars in the lead role but also produced the film under his banner Mammootty Kampany. The music was composed by Christo Xavier, known for his work in “Bramayugam,” while Vishnu Sharma handled the cinematography. The film’s editing was done by renowned editor Shameer Muhammed.
Mammootty’s Upcoming Projects
Next on Mammootty’s schedule is the action thriller “Bazooka,” directed by newcomer Deeno Dennis. The film features an impressive cast including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Babu Antony, and Neeta Pillai. Produced by Yoodlee Films and Theatre of Dreams, “Bazooka” is expected to release later this year.
