The Dusshera season has officially come to an end. Though it began on a high note, it fizzled out later. NTR’s ‘Aravinda Sametha’ which is off to a flying start, slowed down later. Though the makers claim that it collected a share of 100 crores, trade experts condemn them stating that it minted only 90 crores and needs an additional 5 crores to enter safe zone.
Though collecting 5 crores may not be a big number worldwide, the film may end up as a failure in US market as it collected only $2.15 millions where as it needs to $2.5 million to get a breakeven status. With the film’s run coming to an end and ‘Savyasachi’ releasing this week with good expectations, the fate of ‘Aravinda Sametha’ may not change in overseas.
On the other hand, ‘Pandem Kodi 2’ survived despite the bad talk. The film ran smoothly in B & C centres which ensured good revenues. The film crossed the safe zone successfully and Vishal is promoting the film aggressively to get acceptance in A centers as well. As Ram’s ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame’ needs a share of 6 crores to avoid losses and film getting slowed down drastically, it may end as another failure in Ram’s career.
‘Veera Bhoga Vasantharaayalu’ is getting removed from theatres due to its worst talk and even worst collections. The film failed to mint a share of 25 lakhs despite having three heroes. Other films like ‘Ratham’, ‘Bangaari Balraju’, ‘2 Friends’ need not be discussed. On the whole, no film ended up with huge profits this festive season but ‘Aravinda Sametha’ can termed as better in the lot.
