US president Donald Trump has signed the executive order putting a ban on certain categories in Immigration for 60 days. The move comes in the wake of COVID-19 which has put country’s economy in uncertainty. So what does Trump’s executive order covers. To whom does it benefit and who can heave a sigh of relief.
- What Trump’s executive order holds?
The move aims to protect Americans and give them first placement in jobs. Trumpsaid, “Apart from giving jobs to Americans, we’ll also preserve our health care resources for American patients. We have to take care of our patients, we have to take care of our great American workers. And that’s what we’re doing.”
- Who are exempted?
Foreign nationals who have applied for Green Card are under radar, however with certain exemptions. It doesn’t apply to the spouses of US citizens and children under age 21, health-care workers, investors visas, US Armed Forces, and Iraqi asd Afghan nationals who have worked for US.
The executive order does not apply to H1B workers in the United States.
