After making a storm of sorts in Kerala box office and a few centres worldwide, this hard, gritty Malayalam survival drama ‘2018’ is making waves in Telugu.
Producer Bunny Vas brought the film to Telugu audiences as the film get released on Friday all over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Cashing on the positive reviews in Malayalam, the Tovino Thomas starrer has had paid premieres in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada cities prior to the film’s release.
Based on the devastating floods in ‘God’s Own Country’ in 2018, the film tells a story based on those incidents and people who lost their dear ones during the tragic floods.
Starring Tovino Thomas, Indrans, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, Kalaiyarasan, Aju Varghese, Siddique, and Joy Mathew, Sudheesh in prominent roles, the film has already surpassed Rs 146 crore worldwide beating ‘Baahubali 2’ in Kerala Stare.
