Telugu action-thriller ‘Top Gear’ is the latest film that is releasing this weekend. Producer K.V Sridhar Reddy who financed the film, has pinned high hopes on the outing. He is confident of giving a break to Aadi Saikumar’s career.
“‘Top Gear’ will certainly give actor Aadi Saikumar a good break. We have never compromised in film production. The Direction of Photography Sai Sriram, editor Prawin Pudi and all other technicians who have worked with us, have delivered goods on time. We are all pumped up to bring the action thriller before Telugu audiences, says the producer.
What’s the element that piqued your curiosity when director Shashikanth narrated you the story?
“There have been many films that came and swept away at the box office. I felt ‘Top Gear’ has a freshness in every frame. The director didn’t try to convince me forcibly. I felt there is an honest approach in his story in the first place and I okayed the film. After the shoot, I was quite satisfied with the output. Honestly, it is going to be an engaging one. I am sure audiences would love it.”
What made you choose Aadi Saikumar as the lead?
“Honestly, all the big stars are engaged in big-budget projects for alteast another two years. So I felt actor Aadi can pull off action-oriented characters. He did it in the past and I am sure ‘Top Gear’ would bring him the name he desired. He is a good onscreen performer, but the selection of movies has not resulted in his favour all these years. Hopefully, ‘Top Gear’ will catapult him to success in this new year 2023.”
What’s the central idea of the film?
‘Top Gear’ is about the story of a cabbie who gets stuck in a murky situation. There is a drug mafia chasing him for no fault of his. How he wriggles out of these situations before making his hands dirty is the story.”
Tell us about the film production and how challenging it is for you to safely accomplish the target?
“Budget of the film exceeded further because of the quality that we intended to bring upon. After watching the film, audiences will surely appreciate it. Nowadays, film production is a death knell for producers, its not a cakewalk to produce a film in this era of the digital world. But if I make a movie the basic question that I get as a producer is how would I recover the money. That way I’m optimistic that I can get revenue from it through the contacts that I have developed in the industry. It is fair to believe the content rather than going by the numbers of language rights or satellite rights.”
“Everyone does his/her part. Music rendered by Harshavardhan Rameswar is going to be the standalone work. Truly, he is the hero of the film, his music is going to stand out for this film,” Sridhar Reddy adds.
