Mrunal Thakur, recently opened up about her struggles with intimate scenes in films. In a recent interview, she expressed discomfort with such scenes, leading her to miss out on many opportunities. Mrunal revealed that her hesitation stemmed from both personal discomfort and parental disapproval.
She explained, “I was not really comfortable doing scenes which were intimate, like romantically. I would just get scared, I’d just say no to a film, but how long could I say no? It’s too tough to let go of big films due to intimate scenes.” This dilemma forced her to confront her parents about the issue. She also talked about how she convinced her parents.
Mrunal shared, “There was a point I had to sit down with my parents and tell them that ‘Papa, I cannot miss a part because sometimes it’s there, it’s not my choice. As much as I wanted to do a film, I had to drop because there was a kissing scene involved. As an actor, you need to be ready because sometimes that’s the demand (of the scene). If you are not comfortable, you can tell, you can talk about it but I kept missing out on films because of that.”
Mrunal disclosed that initially, her parents were hesitant about her pursuing a career in films and leaving college. She mentioned that her father was initially opposed when she received an offer for a show. Despite this, she managed to juggle her academic commitments with her budding career. However, when her attendance started fluctuating, her father eventually supported her decision to focus fully on her acting endeavors.
On the work front, her latest project, “Family Star,” alongside Vijay Deverakonda, received mixed reviews upon its release. Despite this, Mrunal has exciting ventures ahead, including “Pooja Meri Jaan” and a production by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
