Tollywood’s Sankranthi 2025:
Every year, Tollywood releases many new movies for Sankranti. A common trend is to release Tamil dubbed movies as well. Producers claim they release these films because they have the rights or because there are enough theaters. However, this trend has changed in 2025.
In January 2024, there was a clash of movies. Guntur Karam, Hanuman, Naa Sami Ranga, and Saindhav were released. This left no space for other movies. As a result, movies like Captain Miller and Ayalan were postponed. One of these movies came out at the end of the month.
Now, in 2025, the situation is similar. Game Changer, Daaku Maharaj, and Sankranthi Ki Vastunnam are entering the market. They are releasing peacefully without any clash. Since there are only three films, distributors will not face much difficulty in getting enough screens for them.
This is why Dil Raju is calm. In the past, the situation was different. In 2023, there were movies like Walteir Veeraya, Veera Simha Reddy, and Kalyanam Kamaniyam. Vijay’s Varasudu and Ajith’s Tegimpu also took up space in theaters. These movies affected each other’s collections.
In 2019, there was a similar situation. The producer of Rajinikanth Tamil film Peta had a press conference complaining that there were no theatres for him in Telugu States because of the Telugu films Kathanayakudu, Vinaya Vidheya Rama, and F2. This press conference created a controversy and later Rajinikanth’s film also took up some space. Adjustments were made to manage this.
This time, no such adjustments are needed. Ram Charan, Balakrishna, and Venkatesh have a good opportunity. If their movies get positive reviews, the theaters will be crowded for at least two weeks. If their movies become blockbusters, they will break records. Right now, all movies have the same pre-release buzz. It remains to be seen which one will be the most successful.
