Tollywood’s Dasara box office battle heats up
Tollywood is gearing up for a massive box office battle during the Dasara festival. Several big films are set to release around the same time making it an intense competition.
Prabhas’ upcoming film The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi was initially scheduled for April 10 but has now been postponed. The makers are considering an October release, as they believe the long weekend starting with Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 will be ideal. However competition is tough as Kantara Chapter 1 has already locked the same release date.
Adding to the clash, Ram Charan’s RC 16, directed by Buchi Babu, is also rumored to be targeting an October release. The film’s shooting is progressing rapidly, and if lead actors Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar adjust their schedules, the movie might release on October 16. This could prevent a direct clash with The Raja Saab.
Meanwhile, Akhanda 2: Tandavam and Sai Dharam Tej’s Sambarala Etigattu are set to hit theaters on September 25. If these films receive positive reviews, they could dominate the box office even during the Dasara holidays.
With multiple big releases within 20 days, including Prabhas, Ram Charan, Balakrishna, Sai Dharam Tej, and Rishab Shetty’s films, Tollywood audiences are in for an exciting festive season. However, this intense box office competition could affect individual movie collections, making the Dasara 2025 season one of the most thrilling in recent years.
