Tillu Square review and rating: Did Tillu match the success of its predecessor?

Tillu Square review:

Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s portrayal of DJ Tillu garnered immense popularity among audiences due to his comedic timing and writing skills, paving the way for its sequel, Tillu Square. Directed by Mallik Ram, the film stars Anupama Parameswaran as the leading lady. With high anticipation, the movie has released today. Let’s explore whether it lives up to the expectations.

Story:With the huge amount earned, Tillu (Siddhu Jonnalagadda) becomes an event organizer. His attitude and style doesn’t change a bit and Tillu instantly falls in love with Lilly (Anupama Parameswaran). He starts wooing Lilly from the moment he sees her, and again, he lands in a huge mess. How Tillu comes out of it forms the crux of the story.

Performances and Technical Aspects

Once again, Siddhu Jonnalagadda shines in his role as Tillu. His witty one-liners and impeccable timing in delivering dialogues always impress. From dialogues to dances, expressions to attire, Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s portrayal of DJ Tillu is very impressive.

Anupama Parameswaran adds an extra layer of charm with her performance. Her glamorous presence, affectionate moments, and acting skills compete well with Siddhu’s performance. Despite not having a fully developed role, she certainly adds to the allure of Tillu Square.

Neha Shetty captivates audiences with her brief but striking appearance as Radhika. Her on-screen presence is stunning and adds to the overall quality of the episode.

Murli Sharma, Muralidhar Goud, Prince, and the rest of the cast also deliver solid performances in their respective roles. The songs blend well with the story. Ram Miryala and Achu Rajamani have done a commendable job with the music, and Bheems Ceciroleo’s background score perfectly complements the film’s quirky vibe. The editing by Navin Nooli is satisfactory. Sai Prakash’s cinematography is excellent, capturing colorful frames throughout.

The production values are also noteworthy. Director Mallik Ram effectively presents a familiar storyline in an entertaining way. Despite some flaws, the team compensates with humor and keeps the audience engaged.

Analysis:Creating a sequel that lives up to the hype of its predecessor is no easy feat, but the team behind Tillu Square understood this challenge well. Rather than trying to outshine DJ Tillu, they aimed to match its entertainment value, and they succeeded. By staying grounded in reality, Tillu Square delivers another enjoyable experience.

In Tillu Square, we witness another chapter in Tillu’s life, where past and present troubles collide. The first half of the film is filled with entertainment, featuring many callbacks to the first installment. Anupama Parameswaran’s chemistry with Siddhu and her surprising transformation keep the audience engaged. Siddhu’s witty dialogues, including memorable ones like “Maida pindi,” add to the humor.

The second half delves deeper into the plot, introducing twists and turns in Tillu’s journey. Despite the shift to a more action-oriented narrative, Tillu’s humor remains intact, especially with his quirky timing. The introduction of the original Radhika adds an extra layer of excitement to the story.

With a crisp runtime of two hours, Tillu Square relies on Siddhu’s sharp one-liners, Anupama’s allure, and Neha Shetty’s impactful re-entry to maintain its momentum. While some dialogues may feel repetitive for those familiar with DJ Tillu, Tillu Square still manages to entertain. The only downside is the slightly abrupt climax, although Tillu’s actions are justified.

Verdict:Tillu Square delivers on its promise of entertainment, keeping viewers engaged and laughing throughout. Despite the shadow of DJ Tillu looming over it, the director skillfully integrates elements from the first part to create an enjoyable experience.
