Throwback to when Sai Pallavi chose not to leave home
Sai Pallavi, known for embracing her natural skin, rarely uses makeup and confidently shows off her true beauty. However, in the past, things were different. In a throwback interview, Sai Pallavi opened up about her insecurities before her breakout role in the film Premam. She struggled with acne, which made her very self-conscious about her appearance.
During an interview with Brut, Sai Pallavi revealed that before Premam, she would try numerous creams to deal with her acne. She mentioned, “I had so much acne, I didn’t want to leave the house. I felt like people were always staring at my pimples and not looking into my eyes.” This insecurity kept her isolated, as she believed others constantly judged her based on her skin.
However, things took a positive turn after the release of Premam. Sai Pallavi noticed that the audience embraced her, acne and all. She realized that her portrayal on screen resonated with people, particularly young girls who could relate to her. This acceptance helped her regain confidence. “I felt grateful that people connected with me, and I wanted to give back the same love and confidence they showed me,” she said.
This candid admission is part of what makes Sai Pallavi stand out in the film industry. She remains grounded, honest, and committed to self-acceptance, which resonates deeply with her fans.
In a related incident, according to a report by Koimoi, Sai Pallavi once turned down a ₹2 crore offer to endorse a fairness cream. She believed that promoting such a product would send the wrong message, especially to young women. “What will I do with the money? I’ll just go home and eat like I always do. I don’t need much more,” she explained, highlighting her simple and grounded approach to life.
Sai Pallavi is currently working on her upcoming movie Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, where she will star alongside Sivakarthikeyan.
