Mega compound heroes Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, and Vaishnav Tej are encountering challenges in their Tollywood careers, causing producers to hesitate in collaborating with them. Despite Sai Dharam Tej’s success with Virupaksha, the overall scenario remains difficult for these three actors. Producers are reluctant due to the risk of minimal returns, especially when their films receive mixed responses upon release.
The decline in the non-theatrical market has imposed strict budget constraints on many films, leading to some projects being shelved after announcements and extensive publicity. Mega young heroes, including Sai Dharam Tej, have faced hurdles, as exemplified by the stalled projects which encountered budgetary issues early on.
Sai Dharam Tej faced challenges with his film Ganjayi Shankar, which was initially announced with Sampath Nandi as the director. However, budgetary concerns forced the team to put the project on hold while attempting to trim costs.
Varun Tej is also grappling with similar challenges, with recent box office disappointments and struggling to secure favorable theatrical and non-theatrical offers. His upcoming film Matka, directed by Karuna Kumar, faced budget concerns despite its pan-India release plans and a storyline spanning from 1958 to 1982.
Vaishnav Tej, following his blockbuster debut in Uppena, faced setbacks with recent disasters like Aadikeshava, Kondapolam, and Ranga Ranga Vaibhavamga. The young mega heroes are not only grappling with budget struggles for upcoming projects but also raising concerns based on their recent track records.
Considering the challenges, there are calls for at least one of these three mega compound heroes to pause their film commitments to ease the burden on producers and cater to audience expectations. Alternatively, they are urged to select compelling stories instead of opting for subpar narratives. The plea is for a more thoughtful approach, avoiding the mere dumping of lackluster stories on the audience.
