THESE two Tollywood stars rejected Arjun Reddy

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga became a sensation with just one film, Arjun Reddy. This film not only broke records in Tollywood but also gained immense popularity in Bollywood after its Hindi remake, Kabir Singh. However, before casting Vijay Deverakonda, the director had approached two other star heroes for the lead role. Surprisingly, both of them rejected the offer.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga initially wanted Allu Arjun to play the role of Arjun Reddy. He believed the stylish star would be perfect for the intense character. However, Allu Arjun, who had already established himself as a commercial hero, was not interested in taking up a bold love story at that stage in his career. He politely declined the offer, choosing to focus on mass entertainers instead.

After Allu Arjun’s rejection, the director approached Sharwanand, a talented young actor known for his unique script choices. Though Sharwanand appreciated the story, he was hesitant about the character’s aggressive and rebellious nature. He was unsure if the audience would accept him in such a bold role and decided to turn it down.

With two rejections, the project seemed uncertain until Vijay Deverakonda stepped in. The young actor, who had already gained recognition with Pelli Choopulu, saw Arjun Reddy as a golden opportunity. His dedication and powerful performance turned the film into a blockbuster, making him an overnight sensation.

After the massive success of Arjun Reddy, Vijay Deverakonda became one of the biggest stars in Tollywood, receiving multiple offers from top directors. Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga also gained immense popularity, eventually directing Kabir Singh and Animal in Bollywood.

Had Allu Arjun or Sharwanand accepted the role, the story of Arjun Reddy might have been different. But fate had other plans, and the film ended up redefining Vijay Deverakonda’s career.
