Any Telugu film that is remotely exciting is always a hit in Tollywood. Telugu audiences need mass peppy numbers to dance. A couple of fight sequences that could give them some high. And a happy ending, of course, is mandatory. Sad-endings at the climax portions are always annoyed with a spit of bitterness.
These are the standards of moviemaking in Telugu cinema. Telugu audiences don’t even care if the story goes for a toes. They don’t give a sh** about how sloppy the screenplay is.
This is the zone where filmmakers and film producers would plunder all the possible opportunities. The films which are major hits in Tollywood, would eventually turn out to be flops in other languages.
Latest release at the box office ‘Dasara’ has been doing well in all centres in Telugu States and elsewhere in the USA. But the Hindi version of ‘Dasara’ has failed utterly. The collections are very low. Is this a sign why Hindi audiences disliked Nani’s film?
The scenario seems to be grim even in Tamil and Malayalam languages. Even though Nani promoted the film in a big way, covering parts of Northern Indian, there seems to be no impact on audiences.
