The latest films of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and Kiran Abbavaram that were released this week have made no noise at the box office. Most of the theatres are running the shows with a very less crowd, probably single digit count in some areas.
Ravi Teja’s film ‘Ravanasura’ in which he portrayed the grey character has received a lot more criticism than appreciation from everyone. Makers tried to hard sell the film by praising the making and the twists that the film has. But contrary to it, it has no emotion with a sloppy narrative.
Kiran Abbavaram’s ‘Meter’ doesn’t have any readings. It is a frighteningly outdated story with commercial elements. The story demanded a mass appeal and Kiran’s stature as a mass hero didn’t really convince the audience in the end. And it turned out to be a disaster for Mythri Movie Makers.
Nani’s ‘Dasara’ which was released on March 30, is still pulling the crowd in Hyderabad and other districts in the Telangana region. The film is still earning good profits for exhibitors in the Nizam region. But this is not the case in Rayalaseema (ceeded) and Andhra regions. People are not showing interest in watching it because of the slang and difficulty in understanding the Telangana dialect.
Krishnavamsi’s much-praised “masterpiece” Rangamarthanda too somehow washed out because it was only meant for only a certain section of family audiences. And coming to ‘Balagam’, Dil Raju could have waited for some more time before selling it off to OTT. Because the craze for the film is growing with each passing day. Balagam is totally out of theatres now.
