This assertion faced criticism, leading to a revision of the number to just three women amidst the online backlash.
Despite the controversy, producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah addressed the issue, emphasizing the extensive four-year research conducted by director Sudipto Sen. Shah defended the film, stating, “We are making a film on a big tragedy. If I feel that I want to tell this story as a filmmaker, then, discussion on whether I am pro-establishment or not will only reflect an individual’s point of view.”
