Just a day ahead of the release, film journalists sat at Abhishek Pictures office for an interview of lead actress Megha Akash in Ravi Teja starrer ‘Ravanasura’. Slowly the conversation shifted to the Friday releases ‘Ravanasura’ and Kiran Abbavaram’s ‘Meter’.
What’s fresh that he has to offer? came a question from a journalist. “Same-old formulaic entertainer,” murmured another from a corner. Ravi Teja isn’t backing on when it comes to characters that portray him as a larger-than-life actor. “I still couldn’t process how his film ‘Dhamaka’ earned Rs 100 crore,” said a senior man. “The actor should probably choose characters that suit his age, not just appear before with cosmetic touch,” he adds.
Review part
The film hit the screens worldwide on Friday. According to the inputs coming from various sources, ‘Ravanasura’ is certainly a thriller portraying Ravi Teja as a criminal who studies the Law to know the loopholes in the system. A predictable plot, the story has routine pre-interval twists stacking the suspense for the second half.
There’s nothing organic in the comedy with over-the-top dialogues. And you might get disgusted about why filmmakers are coming up with characters who use fake Telangana accents.
‘Ravanasura’ is a commercial potboiler aimed at Ravi Teja fans but not real filmgoers. The film has an ensemble cast of Anu Emmanuel, Faria Abdullah, Megha Akash, Daksha Nagarkar and hero Sushanth in a supporting role. The film is directed by Sudheer Varma and has music from Harshavardhan Rameshwar and Bheems Ceciroleo.
