Thandel release date: Is the team missing a golden opportunity?
Naga Chaitanya, a popular young actor in Tollywood, is currently working on the film Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, who recently earned a National Award for Karthikeya 2. The movie is inspired by real-life events involving fishermen from Uttarandhra and also includes a heartwarming love story. Bunny Vasu is producing Thandel under Geetha Arts 2, a banner known for its successful films, and the project is supported by Allu Aravind.
The film stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead, reuniting with Naga Chaitanya after their collaboration in Love Story. The production is progressing quickly, and the team is close to wrapping up the shoot. Promotional material released so far has generated significant excitement, leading many to believe that Thandel has the potential to be a hit.
However, the release date of Thandel has become a topic of discussion. Initially, it was rumored to release on December 20 as a Christmas treat. With the postponement of Ram Charan’s Game Changer, many expected Thandel to fill that slot. Despite this, no official announcement has been made, and reports now suggest that the film may not be ready in time. As a result, there are talks of a Sankranti release instead.
This news has pleased many fans since Sankranti is one of the most lucrative seasons for Telugu films. Given the strong buzz surrounding Thandel, a Sankranti release could be ideal. Meanwhile, other festival films like Ram Charan’s Game Changer and Balakrishna’s NBK 109 are also expected to attract attention, but Thandel is seen as having a unique edge.
Despite the excitement for Sankranti, there are rumors that the makers are considering releasing the film around Republic Day or Valentine’s Day. Many fans believe this would be a missed opportunity, as Sankranti offers the perfect platform for Thandel to succeed. All eyes are now on the makers to see what they decide
