GOAT worldwide box-office collection day 1: GOAT, starring the popular actor Vijay, premiered on September 5, 2024, and made a significant impact at the box office. On its opening day, the film earned around ₹31.47 crore across India, including advance ticket sales. This puts it on a strong start in Tamil Nadu, with notable occupancy rates reported.
The film saw an impressive 73.19% occupancy overall, peaking at 78.36% for evening shows. In Chennai, the theaters were nearly full, with a 99% occupancy rate for 731 shows. The film also performed well in other locations like Pondicherry and Madurai, where it recorded high attendance.
Despite this strong start, GOAT did not surpass the box office record set by Prabhas’ film Kalki 2898 AD, which earned ₹114 crore on its first day. Additionally, GOAT fell short of Vijay’s previous film, Leo, which had a first-day collection of ₹76.2 crore.
