GOAT box office collection day 4:
Vijay’s latest release, GOAT, made a remarkable entrance at the Indian box office by collecting Rs 44 crore on its opening day. However, the movie witnessed a 42% drop in revenue on Friday, which is typical for second-day releases. Despite this dip, the film bounced back on Saturday, generating Rs 33.5 crore—a significant 31% rise. The performance during its first weekend was crucial for the film to sustain its momentum and continue its box office success.

On Sunday, according to early estimates from Sacnilk, GOAT continued its strong run, bringing in Rs 14.71 crore, which includes revenue from advance bookings made until 5 PM. With substantial revenue expected from the film’s evening and night shows, the movie’s total collection in India reached Rs 117.71 crore by the end of its fourth day. The Tamil occupancy rate for morning shows on Sunday stood at an impressive 61.65%, while major cities like Chennai and Pondicherry experienced around 90% occupancy.
With no major upcoming releases in Tamil Nadu for the next two weeks, GOAT is expected to maintain its stronghold at the box office, potentially becoming one of Vijay’s biggest career hits. Experts predict the film could soon become his second-highest grosser, following Leo, his previous film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. GOAT has already secured its place as the top-grossing Tamil film of 2024 and is currently the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT stars Vijay alongside Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Although some critiques noted that the film could have been more, they praised it as a fitting celebration of Vijay’s stardom, showcasing his talents in action, comedy, and romance.
